In 2019, Language Service Providers (LSP) was founded by the Knight siblings—Edward, Armstrong, and Elizabeth—a family of CODAs (Children of Deaf Adults), interpreters, and industry leaders who live and breathe language access.
We built LSP because we saw a problem—one that the language industry wasn’t fixing.
Our Story: From Home to Industry Leaders
Growing up in a Deaf household, spoken language wasn’t part of our early lives. By the time we reached school, we couldn’t speak—so we were placed in homeschooling with a dedicated ASL interpreter.
That means interpreters have been our childhood friends, our mentors, and now our professional peers. We aren’t just linguists—we are part of a community that has raised, taught, and worked alongside each other our entire lives.
This is why we don’t just see LSP as our company—it belongs to every linguist who has ever been stuck in outdated, admin-heavy agency models.
The full-circle moment came when we realized that the language industry had lost its way.
